Books 2 and 3 were just like the first. Sarah Agnes Prine is one tough cookie and has a lot of obstacles. "Sarah's Quilt" takes place 5 yrs later and she is still mourning the loss of Jack. She talks to him and visits his grave often. Of course she is also dealing with droughts, fires, earthquakes, family issues, marriage proposals, and the theft of ALL her $$.
In "The Star Garden" she faces bankruptcy, boundary wars, marriage proposals, illness, and defending her land. OH and she goes to college! She is so spunky and calls it like it is. I would definitely want to be her friend (and stay on her good side) She finds love again to a good loyal guy.
The first was my favorite because i LOVED her relationship with Jack. All 3 were good examples of what trials and hardship REALLY are! Compared to all she went through i'm sittin' pretty!

Such a great attitude. Nothing like hearing the troubles of others to make us appreciate our own "sacks of rocks".
